Dollar Form Letter

PO Box xxx
____________, 19___

Dear ___________________:

Thank you for letting me know the whereabouts of my lost dollar bill, serial # _______________________. I can't tell you how relieved I am that you've found it.

I last saw it around __________, 19___, and since then I've been so worried that I might never see it again. It has great sentimental value to me. I miss it so much. I know it's only really worth about 15 cents, but for some reason I became emotionally attached to it.

My love for this dollar knew no bounds. I worshipped it. I wasted some of the best years of my life in pursuit of it. I forsook family, friends, and loved ones; I turned my back on art and humor; ultimately I lost everything I had except for this dollar. And then I lost that as well.

But now you've found it, and I'm filled with gratitude. I can't wait to see # ______________________ again. To collect your reward, simply mail my lost dollar to me, at the above address. You may send it by insured or certified mail if you wish, but that is not necessary. As soon as I receive my lost dollar, I will send you your well-deserved reward.

I feel certain I can count on you to do the right thing. Thanks so much for your concern and your thoughtfulness. I'll never forget this as long as I live. It's people like you, ________________________, who make this world a better place.

Best Wishes,

Earl Vickers
